It has been almost two months now since I started my new career as a Barista while continuing to be an MA Communications student.  I remember last year, I think it was around July, when I met with my guidance counselor here in school.  For those who are a bit alarmed by that, not to worry; it was merely standard protocol for new students to meet with the guidance counselors. 

He asked me how I was doing so far.  Back then, I was in the midst of adjusting to everything - new school and the new work teaching schedule:  I was studying in Manila on Mondays and Tuesdays, then I would be teaching Wednesdays through Fridays in Pampanga.  Just the amount of time consumed with commuting to and fro was enough to boil my brains out.

The guidance counselor also asked me what my future plans were going to be.  I remember telling him that the semester was going to be my last term for teaching and that I was entertaining the idea of applying for a Barista position.  Nearly seven months later, well, here I am.  It feels weird to actually think that my plans happened.  I didn't think I'd get in.  Now I only hope I get to stay long enough for my other plans to happen.
